Backburner

Ok, its now time for a bunch of stuff.  I have (…or will) create a page that will contain any articles and music reviews I’ve written for the lance so far, for anybody intrested.  Hopefully there will be a progressive improvment in my style as the days progress, but we’ll see. Also, PICTURES!   I’ve been meaning to post pictures of what I’ve done to my houses basement.  Mostly things have just been cleaned and organized, but it still looks alot different.  Other than that….there are new things on the horizon in terms of leave the pack behind.  We are on the cusp of making a contest (YAY! CONTEST), and I’m writing the proposals, so perhaps i’ll post those too.  Thinking of applying for the volunteer internship program…but that MIGHT be alot on my plate…HAHAHA, yah no, ima apply and see what happens, I love being busy, it’s when I feel the most natural.

Now to go off on a tangent!  Ayn Rand is a brilliant author.  I’ve read Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, both great books. At points they get alittle wordy (a 15 page monolgue >_<)  and her methods of character development in Fountainhead made me bored, but the concepts, the quotes, the story in general…fantastic.  Along with Daniel Quinn I’d put her up there with the most important authors of our age.

Lastly, C-JAM’s pledge drive is in full swing.  Pledge Pledge Pledge, hehe.

The Fifth

I’ve been thinking of changing the name of this site to “coolerthanyouruncle.com”…but there are soem pretty cool uncles out there so I don’t know how strong my claim would hold up…

So, I’m now officially employed.  Currently i’m working for Leave the pack behind Windsor chapter as a communications team member (via coup d’etat I will eventually take over the team and start on my own agenda…), it should be fun .  At the moment i’m already in the motions of planning some advertising schemes to get the word out so stay tuned….

Other than that, my first official article for the Lance has been published.  I’d like to get feedback from Lindsey (I think thats teh name of the editor but i’m not too sure) so I’ll probibly email her sometime before I go to sleep tonight.  I’ll go through the motions of posting the article, getting around to posting pictures and any appropriate links in due time.  I’ve never been really good at blogs…lets hope this one doesn’t go the way of John Galt…

Cooler Than Your Mother…and your uncle.

Bold Statement? Yes.

Justified? Certainly.

Ok.  The state of things a the moment?  Surprise, Surprise, I’ve lost interest.  Yeah Yeah, I know, I bought the camera, obtained the software, wrote the script, charted up a club constitution, and did some unsavoury things for some powerful people to….

Point is all the preperation was made, however, in shooting the first episode I discovered something crucial.  Its the preperation and the writing that I enjoy, the shooting and editing however, not exactly my cup of tea.  So, until further notice, Stirfri is on hiatus (I hope I spelled that write).  As of now, this will become a personal blog, my means of keeping up with people I should be keeping up with anyways.  So, if you don’t hear from me for a month or so, this’ll be a good way to check if I’m still alive, and what crazy shanagins i’ve gotten myself into.  It’ll be purely informative, no whiney “the world is so unfair”….well, maybe a rant or two, bu it’ll be kept to a minimum.

What to expect?

Well, currently…I’m looking for a job through the work study program, working as a campus representative for career campus magazine, volunteering for the school newspaper and the school radio station, and doing dance classes on the side.  Expect videos for career campus, links to c-jam shows on occasion, news stories by me, updates on my job progress, and many many pictures.  Eventually this may evolve into something more purposeful than a personal blog, but for now keeping those in my life informed about my well-being seems pretty purposeful (and practical ;-D).

Anyways, this is certainly not the end of the dream syndicate, it’ll simply take a different path at the moment.  Eventually, something will happen….

Stirfri – Episode 1

The script is written, and not written like in my mind, but hardcopy, yesh.  As well, I am in the process of creating a trailer.  Creating the trailer will be interesting as I’ll more or less be doing it on my own (unless someone wants to come out and aid me, *hint hint*), but it’ll work out I think.  After the trailer is one I’ll start solicitation; all those months of telemarketing and door to door sales will finally pay off.  So, stay tuned, I’ll write up the final draft of the trailer today and see if I can shoot it all tommorow…this is gonna interesting.
